Great Jewish Delicatessen. Love the Tuna Melts and potato pancakes with apple sauce. I have had many selections and all the food is made fresh. Excellent dishes
I love visiting this place whenever I come to Scranton. It's within walking distance of the historic square and parking is easy to come by. The corned beef Reuben is my go-to with delicious fries.
Great pitstop! On our way down from Toronto, we stopped by Scranton naturally because of The Office. A quick google search revealed this little spot in town. Great customer service and great food. I ordered the pastrami sandwich and was actually given a different sandwich which I’m glad I got. I’m not exactly sure what it was because it didn’t have cheese so I don’t think it was a Reuben. But delicious nonetheless. Would love to stop by here on my next trip down south.
Small but nice deli with a good selection of cafe style foods. Has gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options. Seemed like a family owned business and they all were very welcoming and friendly.
This is real deal Kosher deli food. Take is from a guy who has been to delis all over New York City. The Matzo ball soup us great and so is the pastrami. If it has formica countertops and Dr. Brown's Celery Soda. You know it is legit. You feel as if you are going back in time here. Helping preserve this food for future generations.
If you are near Abe's Deli you really should stop in. We were greeted by a number of very friendly staff. From the moment you walked in, you knew you're in a very popular spot. A number of people came in and where greeted by name. And the pastrami reuben and oatmeal raisin were excellent.
Abolutely top tier deli! The pastrami and corned beef were tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, the knish had an amazing soft and chewy texture without being too dense, and the falafel and quinoa wrap was fresh, zippy, and complex. Highly recommend for both the food and the nostalgic vibes. Edit: we were in town for two days and loved Abe’s so much we came back a second time!
Abe’s serves the best Reuben I’ve ever had—hands down. The difference is 100% in the meat. Perfectly seasoned, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor. One bite and I was hooked. If you’re a Reuben fan, this place is a must. WOW
